No. This site is not about perfection or being “artistic”, it is about self expression. All people are inherently creative and intuitively wise, and the purpose of the site is to encourage you to explore these innate abilities, and have fun while doing it. Activities on the site are open ended and free flowing, and are designed to help you build a relationship with yourself by making a connection to your inner resources of creativity and insight. All that is needed is your imagination and a willingness to explore.

No. While the site incorporates the basic concepts of meditation, the activities on the site are interactive and offer a creative and stimulating environment.

Peacefulday.com features include: A Zen rock garden where you can rake, paint, and play with rocks; a koi pond that provides a relaxing place to meditate; and your very own temple complete with a journal for writing, an easel for painting, a firepit where you can release anything negative from your life, and a messenger bird to send good wishes and thoughts to those around you.  Take the tour to try out each activity.

The site offers many activities which can act as tools to provide you with calmness, clarity and relaxation, things we need to build a more balanced and peaceful life. Scientific studies have shown that both meditative practices and creative play can reduce stress and anxiety, increase concentration and focus and provide an overall sense of well being. Additionally, insight practices such as journaling and other forms of self-contemplation help us to set new goals and priorities and to make positive changes in our lives.

No, there is no right or best way to use the site. Use your intuition to guide you to the activity or combination of activities that you need at that particular moment.

Peacefulday.com is an easy and convenient way to take a break and let go of stress, and we recommend using the site for 5-20 minutes each day as a part of your daily health routine. We have provided a 20 minute timer on the site to help you achieve this goal. Our recommendation is a suggested guideline and you are, of course, free to use the site as often as you feel the need. This could range from once in awhile to several times a day.

  • Press the Print Screen (PrtScn or PrtSc) key on the keyboard (it's usually located next to the F12 key).
  • Run a paint program. (For example, Windows has a paint program called Windows Paint. It is available in Start->Programs->Accessories->Paint.)
  • Within the paint program, paste the picture, by selecting Edit->Paste.
  • Within the paint program, you can crop and then print, or save (File->SaveAs) the picture as a jpeg file.

I'm using a Mac:

  • Make sure the canvas is fully visible on the screen.
  • Press SHIFT, COMMAND, and 3 at the same time. (e.g., first hold down the SHIFT and COMMAND keys, then press the 3 key). This will save the screen into a PNG file.
  • Depending on the version of your Mac OS, the PNG file may be saved in the desktop or on the top folder of the hard drive.
  • Look for a file named PICTURE(n) (where n is a number and the last screen capture has the largest n).
  • Open the PNG file using a paint program or by double clicking it.
  • Within the paint program, you can crop and then print, or save the picture as a jpeg file.
